Peek A Book Powered by Mount Litera School International
“When you read a book as a child, it becomes a part of your identity in a way that no other reading in your whole life does,” says bookseller Kathleen Kelly. It is this essence that ‘Peek A Book, a literature and story- telling festival ‘ was organized for the first time in Mumbai at Mount Litera School International on 10th & 11th December 2016. With about 30 events to choose from and hosted over two days, this carnival bought all the fun and wit of children’s books into the real world. Authors, illustrators, dancers, theatre artists, magicians and a number of other storytellers kept the promise to engage children from ages four-14. Lubaina Bandukwala, founder and festival director of Peek A Book said, “The idea was to build a festival that engages with books in different ways.”
The students took a deep dive into the childhood stories at Peek A Book. The festival featured a wide variety of books and activities centered around books and saw a fantastic line-up up of best-selling authors and award winning storytellers including Shabnam Minwalla, Devdutt Pattanaik, Jeeva Raghunath, Ankit Chadha Payal Kapadia, Natasha Sharma, and even a celebrity magician: Neel Madhav.
